We are thrilled that you desire to be married in the Catholic Church. The Sacrament of Marriage is a tremendous gift, and each couple desiring marriage is called to a thorough and prayerful preparation process. We are here to accompany and pray for you throughout this important process!
If you have any questions or would like to discuss the details of marriage preparation at St. Alice, please reach out to Ally Caffarelli, the Coordinator of Marriage and Family Life, at acaffarelli@stalice.org.
Call the parish office at 541-747-7041 to speak with Ally and set up an initial meeting with Fr. Mark.
Shortly after your meeting with Fr. Mark, you will receive an email with a link to the Prepare Enrich assessment for you and your fiancé to fill out.
This asssessment is not meant to be a test - there is no passing or failing. It's simply to help us get an understanding of your background, your relationship strengths and areas of growth, and to provide an opportunity for discussion about important topics prior to marriage.
Once you have both completed the Prepare Enrich Assessment, the Marriage Prep Coordinator will email you to set up a meeting to discuss the results. The aim of this meeting is to identify relationship strengths and growth areas, and provide a space for open and honest conversation.
Witness to Love is the marriage preparation program used at St. Alice. It is designed to help you and your future spouse grow in relationship with God and with one another, and deepen your understanding of the sacrament of Marriage.
One of the key components of Witness to Love is choosing a Mentor Couple to accompany you on your journey. You should choose a mentor couple who has been married in the Catholic Church for 5+ years, is active in parish life, and has a marriage that you admire! If you are having difficulty finding a mentor couple, your Marriage Prep Coordinator can assist you by suggesting couples in the parish.
The engaged couple, mentor couple, and Marriage Prep Coordinator should set up a meeting to discuss the Witness to Love program and distribute materials. This meeting is about 45 minutes.
The Witness to Love program for engaged couples is a 6 month process.

We ask that you attend an Introductory Session or full course in Natural Family Planning. There are a variety of methods that exist! Our parish recommends the Creighton Model FertilityCare System. In addition to its function as a method of family planning, the Creighton Model System offers all women the basic knowledge to understand her cycle and monitor her health.
Ally Caffarelli is a practitioner in the Creighton Model System and teaches single women and couples here at the parish. Introductory Sessions are held on a regular basis.
